Gibson Sotheby's International Realty: A Brief History
|
In 1962, Betty Gibson, a woman with a pioneering spirit and great vision, founded our company in Boston's South End. With its bow front Victorian row houses on picturesque, if neglected, side streets, Betty knew the South End was a neighborhood destined for rebirth. And that's exactly what happened over the next three decades. With Betty Gibson Associates (as we were called then) leading the way, the South End was transformed into the avant garde center of Boston that it is today. Loosely defined as the area bounded by the Southwest Corridor Park, Massachusetts Avenue, Albany Street and Bay Village, it is the most ethnically and economically diverse area in the city of Boston. With beautifully restored townhouses and condominiums, excellent restaurants, lovely parks, unique shops and many art galleries, the South End has surpassed the expectations of even the most visionary people like Betty Gibson. Boston is our home and we take great pride in it.
